Doggie Duet

A progress update on my longshot pursuance of a career in singing:

Mama: How much is that doggie in the window?
Me: Woof! Woof!
Mama: The one with the waggily tail…
Me: Woof! Woof!
Mama: How much is that doggie in the window?
Me: Woof! Woof!
Mama: I sure hope that doggie’s for sale!
Me: Woof! Woof!

I Have Overcome!

After weeks of having this personal battle, I have finally prevailed.

Yup, where once was fear, now only confidence stands.
Where once was trembling, now firmness remain.
Where once was grass, now there’s Collin!

No more fear of grass for me! Yay!
Now, I just have to watch out for those doggie poops. ;-p

My Messi Shoes

I can’t believe how fast Papa and Mama keep changing my shoes! Seems like I can’t seem to get acquainted with any one pair!

Anyway, while they still fit, this is one of my favourites – a cute Messi-looking like face on the front. Ain’t it adorable? Oh, Messi is one of my house dogs, by the way.

Affinity to Doggies

As a baby, I may be timid and scared of quite a number of things, but one thing I have not much fear about is doggies! While many other babies may have the noticeable fear when a doggie comes near or barks, I seem to enjoy going close to these doggies!

There’s just something about them that makes me want to go near to them. And I think it also helps that I have two of them in my house. I think it’s just in my blood that I just love doggies.

Can’t wait to have one of my own when I grow up too. J

More Football Fortunes for Papa!

Yay! I continue to bring football fortunes to Papa’s team this year. In this wonderful year where I was born, his teams have already brought home so many trophies and cups I couldn’t care less about.

So, here comes along the Olympics and his favourite Argentina team walked away with the Gold Medal, beating Nigeria 1-0. I heard that Messi was the star throughout the entire Olympics.

Wait-a-minute! Isn’t Messi the name of one of our dogs?!!!

Ode to Brownie

It was a very sad and gloomy day here in Sitiawan yesterday when one of Ah Por’s dogs finally passed away and gone to doggie heaven. Brownie had been one faithful dog that has been here for more than 10 years.

I don’t really have a clue what breed Brownie is, but all I know is that with his stocky built, short legs and very furry hair, if there ever was such breeds, I would describe Brownie to be from the ‘cute’ and ‘faithful’ breeds.

Although I only got to know him for about two months, I could really sense that he was definitely a part of this family. This tragic episode brings a tear to my eye knowing that I will not get to spend any time growing up to know Brownie better. *sniff*

Anyhow, in his remembrance, here’s my very simple and final ode to Brownie:

Oh Brownie! Faithful dog extraordinaire!
So cute, so furry, with so much hair!
So faithful, So loyal..you were always there
Watching over the house with so much care

Your loving service we will always treasure
You are more than a dog, that’s for sure
A part of our family you’ll always be
That’s why we’ll really miss you Brownie…

This special doggie T-shirt I’m wearing is a special tribute to you, Brownie!

Doggie Pals

I would have expected our house dogs to be barking at a stranger like me when I went home for the first time. Surprisingly, both of them greeted me like we have been family for years.

Maybe cos all three of us do have some things in common. Let me see - we pee a lot, we poop a lot, we eat a lot, and we all know how to howl when we want attention. ;-D. Ahh…it always feels good to have good doggie pals.

However, Papa tells me that many baby books that he read warns that newborns should be best kept away from pets with fur like dogs and cats. So I guess we shall only be able to play catch some moons and months later, OK?

Cheers to you both – Rotti and Messi. ;-)
