Footballing Frenzy

Papa must be really proud of me now that I have finally started to kick the toy football be bought me many many moons ago. Still don’t quite get the concepts yet, so most of the time when the kicking frustrates me, I would prefer to just pick it up with my hands, throw it and run around.

A future goalie, perhaps? Hee!

Green green grass of home

Since I started to walk, I have been covering plenty of kilometers going round and round and round the sofa, to and fro the kitchen, and almost everywhere else that my feet can step on.

Until I discovered grass. You know, those big spaces of green-coloured leaves that sprouts out from the ground outside my house. When Mama introduced me to this grass by letting me stand on it, I was visibly stunned for a few minutes. Unlike other surfaces, somehow I couldn’t bring myself to walk freely on this grass.

Sigh….must muster more courage to overcome this fear. If not, how will I grow up to be a professional football player like Papa always wanted? :-p

Happy Birthday Papa!!

I know that you would want this for your birthday this year...

...but since I'm just a baby, I will instead give you one of my irresistible smiles....

Thanks for everything, Papa! I love you!! :-D

Here is more proof of Papa's tough football training regime at my very tender age...

Top Corner

I seem to have this amazing ability to locate the top corner (or any corner for that matter actually) everytime I am placed on a mattress or inside the cot.

Maybe my motor skills and co-ordination isn’t too advanced to navigate where I want to go yet. However, I would like to believe that I am destined to be a top pro football player who can always find the top corner! Hee!

On the other hand, it also looks like me doing my best impression of a vacuum cleaner….yikes!

Here’s proof that Papa is training me up from young to be the next football superstar…see determined and focussed I am in training...hee!

More Football Fortunes for Papa!

Yay! I continue to bring football fortunes to Papa’s team this year. In this wonderful year where I was born, his teams have already brought home so many trophies and cups I couldn’t care less about.

So, here comes along the Olympics and his favourite Argentina team walked away with the Gold Medal, beating Nigeria 1-0. I heard that Messi was the star throughout the entire Olympics.

Wait-a-minute! Isn’t Messi the name of one of our dogs?!!!

Foul! Foul!

I think I am ready for Hollywood. Hmmm, or perhaps just the football field. But then again, aren’t they the same?

According to Papa, the best actors can be found on the football field. Not sure what he means by that initially, but when I look back at this photo, I think now know why he’s so proud of me with my pose of what do whenever I’m fouled and fall to the ground during a football match. Hee!

Kick for Kicks

My legs have become more active in recent weeks. Could be the bad influence of football Papa always seems to be watching cos I have this tendency to ‘kick’ everytime my feet are free.

During my bath times, I would more often than not kick down the body shampoo bottle, especially if it is within my range.

During sleep time, I would sometimes kick away the blanket that was keeping me warm. Must have inherited this from Papa…

With this love for kicking stuff, I think I foresee a possible career as a professional footballer or gangster…:-P

Drooling Role Models

Sometimes I wonder and worry if I may have been watching too much football with Papa. You see, I noticed these footballers love to spit their saliva all over the field. Maybe they are trying to make the ground more slippery for their opponents. Heh.

Whatever it is, Mama commented that I have been drooling more and more of late; and whenever I am carried up to ‘stand’, my saliva will run down like nobody’s business.

Am I being influenced by the saliva-grass watering footballers? :-D

Third Moon For Me…

...and Third Cup for Papa’s Man United! Picked up my third moon over last weekend but I think Papa would say that the real celebrations only started yesterday. Hee!

I had the privilege to sit through about half and hour of the first half of the Champions League football soccer final thingy between Papa’s Man United (the red team) and Chelsea (the blue team). I’m proud of my Papa that despite having “the most important match of the year” (quoted from Papa verbatim) in front of him, Papa still didn’t neglect his fatherly duties to feed me! Hee!
At the end of the first half, Papa brought me upstairs to sleep so I didn’t keep him company for the rest of the match. Papa sure didn’t look happy at the end of the first half. Anyhow, I was glad that I had my first taste of this strange sport played at a time when all is asleep. When Papa brought me down to feed again, Man United had already beaten Chelsea and won the Cup (gasp! These teams battle like madmen through sleeping hours only to win one CUP?!! Makes me wonder what sport adults play to win plates or tables!)

Papa has also written a full report in his website to capture the moment of this historic night. You may read it here.

Besides being overjoyed with the result, I think Papa will really be pleased that I came into his life during a super season for his Man United team that has won the League and now this Cup. I can foresee the future will see Papa proudly telling people which year I was born. Hee!

S for SUPER

I heard Papa downstairs cheering in the wee hours of this morning. Not sure if I was dreaming or not, but Papa sure seemed extremely happy this morning when I saw him before he left for work.

Found out later that Papa’s Manchester United had just beaten Barcelona to advance to the Champions League final. It’s been like nine years since this club made to this stage of the competition so I guess that explains his happiness.

I hereby dedicate today’s blog to Papa with a headline tribute to the ‘S’ for SUPER performance of Man United. I’m also happy when Papa’s happy. Hee!

“Super Scholes scores a scorching screamer to scarily scrape a sensational scoreline that silenced the Spaniards and secure a spot for a simply sizzling showcase in Moscow next.”

Somehow I notice Papa seems to be very happy that I was born on the 19th.

Perhaps the picture below is the reason. Hmmm…
